How to Make Stickers at Home
A beginner-friendly guide — turn any free printable into a real, peel-and-stick sticker.
Making your own stickers at home is easier (and cheaper) than most people think. All you really need is a design, some sticker paper, and a printer. Here's the whole process, start to finish.
What you'll need
- A design — grab any free printable sticker pack or make one in our sticker maker.
- Sticker paper — matte or glossy for inkjet printers.
- A printer — any home inkjet works.
- Scissors or a cutting machine — a Cricut/Silhouette makes it faster, but scissors are fine.
Step 1 — Download & size your stickers
Download your PNG or SVG. PNGs keep transparent backgrounds; SVGs let you resize without blur. Arrange them on a page in any free tool (Canva, Google Docs, or your Cricut Design Space).
Step 2 — Print onto sticker paper
Load the sticker paper, set your printer to “best/photo” quality and the correct paper type. Print a test on plain paper first to check sizing.
Step 3 — Cut them out
By hand: cut around each shape. With a cutting machine: use “print then cut” so it cuts precisely around every sticker.
Step 4 — Waterproof (optional)
For water bottles or outdoor use, add a laminate sheet or a coat of clear sealant so the ink doesn't run.
